Jimmy Somerville (g. 1961 m. birželio 22 d. Glazge, Škotijoje) – škotų muzikos atlikėjas, pop dainininkas.
Biografija
Jimmy Somerville XX a. 9-ajame dešimtmetyje buvo muzikos grupių (1984–1985) ir (1985–1988) narys. Somerville balsas išskyrė šias grupes iš kitų to meto dance ir synthie-Pop stilių grupių. Šių muzikos grupių dainų tekstuose pagrindinės temos dažniausiai buvo susijusios su homoseksualumu, jaunų gėjų izoliacija ir vienatve.
Kartu su Bronski Beat Jimmy Somerville sukūrė hitus Why, Smalltown Boy, It Ain't Necessarily So ir kartu su perdainavo Donna Summer kūrinį I Feel Love.
Su grupe Communards Somerville sukūrė hitus Don't Leave Me This Way (autor. ) ir Never Can Say Goodbye (Gloria Gaynor). Abi dainos buvo aukščiausiose dainų dešimtukų vietose Europoje.
Nuo 1989 m. Somerville leido savo solines plokšteles, iš kurių kūriniai iš karto patekdavo į dainų dešimtukus. Ypatingos sėkmės susilaukė perdainuoti kitų autorių kūriniai: You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) (1990, ), To Love Somebody (1990, Bee Gees) ir It Hurts So Good (1995, ).
XX a. dešimtajame dešimtmetyje Somerville kūryboje atsirado pertrauka albumų leidyboje ir albumas Manage The Damage (1999) nesusilaukė populiarumo.
2004 m. Somerville išleido singlą It's So Good.
2005 m. pasirodė jo albumas Home Again.
