JAV demokratų partija (angl. Democratic Party) – viena iš dviejų pagrindinių JAV politinių partijų, kurios pirmtake laikoma 1792 m. įkurta demokratų-respublikonų partija. Demokratų partija atitinka centro kairės politinę pakraipą; seksualinių mažumų, tikėjimo ir karų Irake bei Afganistane atžvilgiu, ji yra daug liberalesnė už respublikonus.

Tai seniausia aktyvi JAV politinė partija ir viena iš seniausių pasaulyje. Šios partijos neoficiali spalva yra mėlyna, o simbolis – D raidė. Partijos pirmininkas – . Politinė ideologija – , .

Istorija

Partijos steigėjas yra Martinas Van Burenas (aštuntasis JAV prezidentas). Kitos reikšmingos asmenybės – Tomas Džefersonas (trečiasis JAV prezidentas) ir Endriu Džeksonas (septintasis JAV prezidentas, kuris buvo išrinktas partijos kandidatu į prezidentus 1828 m.). 1828–1860 m. demokratai buvo valdančioji JAV politinė partija, kartais valdančiąja tapdavo Respublikonų partija. Iš pradžių partija stengėsi išsaugoti vergovę, partijos dažniausiai buvo kaimiečiai, vergvaldžiai, katalikai, įtakingų klanų atstovai ir žmonės iš pietinių valstijų.

Istoriškai partija buvo klasifikuojama kaip centristinė arba centro dešinioji, tačiau duomenų bazėje buvo pastebėtas palyginti neseniai įvykęs poslinkis į kairę partijos politikoje.
Yra 47 senatoriai, kurie yra partijos nariai, o dar keturi nepriklausomi senatoriai – , Bernie Sanders, ir – pasisakė su demokratais, taip faktiškai suteikdami demokratams daugumą 51:49.
